Insulation Type

Blow-in insulation is frequently used to insulate pre-existing homes that were built without insulation or ones that need more insulation. This type of insulation is composed of loose particles, which are blown into attics or wall spaces. Blow-in insulation is usually delivered pneumatically into open (attic) and closed (sidewalls/floor) cavities and is often used in retrofit construction.

Fiberglass Batts are pre-cut sections of fiberglass insulation are available in a range of sizes and R-values. Fiberglass Batts are cut to fit the most common wall framings, and are available both with and without facing. They are most commonly used in new constructions, but can be used in certain retrofit situations as well.
